The B-52’s – Rock Lobster

“Rock Lobster” 是 The B-52’s 的第一支单曲, 收录在同名专辑 The B-52’s 里, 算是他们的成名作.

我自己一直纳闷这么奇怪的歌是怎么进入 Billboard 的(尽管它确实是首好歌). 专辑版的歌更长, 包含关于海滩派对和各种动物的无意义歌词(“There goes a dog-fish, chased by a cat-fish, in flew a sea robin, watch out for that piranha, there goes a narwhal, here comes a bikini whale!”). Kate Pierson 和 Cindy Wilson 一直在后面怪叫. 这首歌里也没有 Bass, 低音是用键盘弹出来的.

媒体对这首歌普遍评价很高, Rolling Stone 的 “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time” 它排在 146 位, AMG 的 Stephen Thomas Erlewine 称赞说是 “incredibly infectious”, “memorable”. John Lennon 在被枪杀不久前的采访里也说这首歌影响了他80年代的回归:

“I was at a dance club one night in Bermuda [in 1979] upstairs, they were playing disco, and downstairs, I suddenly heard ‘Rock Lobster’ by the B-52’s for the first time. Do you know it? It sounds just like Yoko’s music, so I said to meself, ‘It’s time to get out the old axe and wake the wife up!’ We wrote about twenty-five songs during those three weeks, and we’ve recorded enough for another album [1980’s ‘Double Fantasy’].”
