他们说:

The standout DJ for me was most certainly DJ Cavia, a young Chinese DJ who has not only exceptional music taste but a talent for spinning great tunes.  I’m sure this is only the beginning for the extremely talented DJ Cavia, it’s only a matter of time before the rest of the world wants a piece of him too!

Shanghai Novice

For local DJs/crew, I have to say I have been really enjoying the ROM nights, and I think Cavia is fast becoming the best local DJ in Shanghai. There are some very talented local DJs in town these days, but, for me, what usually lets them down is track selection. Cavia nails it every time and never fails to surprise me with what he chooses to put in his set (in a good way).

Gaz Williams (DJ, producer, Uprooted Sunshine, manager at The Shelter)

DJ Cavia really is everything they say he is. I hadn’t heard him spin before but was recommended him through the circles. Took a chance on him for Frexh after a New York techno/house DJ fell through last minute and, well, we’re already planning on having him again in 2011 and beyond if we can. Thank the powers that be that that other DJ didn’t work out! Cavia’s as cool as the other side of the pillow when he spins and his knowledge of music runs crazy deep. Way deeper than any other Shanghainese I’ve ever know. He’s a true student of his craft and it shows. It’s no wonder he is a China DMC DJ Champion. He can play so many genres of music and that’s something I’ve always appreciated – being versatile on the tables. He’s so crazy humble and nice too. That just blows your mind. One of our other DJ’s – DJ HaHa from New York City – was so impressed, he wants to help bring Cavia over to play in New York some day. He’d get a crowd moving in the concrete jungle, I’m sure of it.

Brian Yang (Frexh founder, television host)

In terms of being in clubs listening to people play music, I most enjoyed a local outfit this year, the Icenine crew. I caught them by accident and was struck by how quickly local music is coming along. Seriously, I think they were better than most things I saw internationally this year, except perhaps Shackleton.

If Cavia’s playing you’re in for a top night – guaranteed! If you’ve seen him already, you’ll know; if for some reason you’ve missed out the just listen!
